Tadelakt application

Tadelakt is an ancestral technique from Morocco, which has been passed down from generation to generation. Lately, it has been the fascination of interior designers from all over the world. Hydraulic lime is used in this stucco technique. It is a harder type of lime than that used in the traditional lime stucco that we practice here (Aérea) and, in addition, it has the ability to coexist with water. It is for this reason that it is often used to cover humid areas of the home, such as bathrooms or showers. It is a finish that is smoothed and cold-honed with a stone and cold-polished with a plastic spatula. A soapy solution is also applied to it to make it waterproof and help it repel water.
